Follow the paths taken by generations of travellers and discover an essential strand of England. Based on one of the first Great Roads commissioned by the Kings of England, the Great West Way winds  its way through lush green landscapes filled with the world-famous and the yet-to-be-discovered.

 

England’s Great West Way is a new 125-mile touring route between London and Bristol, roaming through idyllic countryside, quaint villages and ancient towns.

DAY 1

ARRIVAL IN LONDON – OVERNIGHT

 

Arrival in London dinner & overnight. Program depends on the arrival time.

DAY 2

LONDON– WINDSOR CASTLE

Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

Meet your guide and bus for a panoramic tour of West London in the morning.

Early afternoon visit Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, and admire the magnificent State Rooms, St George’s Chapel and Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3

BRISTOL - BATH – CASTLE COMBE

Breakfast at the hotel and we start our day discovering Bristol, one of the most vibrant and historic of England’s cities and the most south-westerly point of the Great West Way. We proceed to Bath, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1987.

 

We can admire Roman Bath (the remarkably well-preserved remains of a Roman religious spa), Pulteney Bridge, Jane Austen Centre and the Royal Crescent, one of the most photographed streets in England.

 

In the afternoon we move to Castle Combe, quintessentially English village often named as the ‘pret- tiest village in England.’ Castle Combe has featured regularly as a film location. The village has a rich history and the houses are made up of the honey colored Cotswold stone, typical for a village of this area. We will visit the market town of Malmesbury, said to be the oldest continually inhabited town in England. Malmesbury is rightly called the “Queen of Hilltop Towns” being England’s oldest bor- ough with a rich history over 1000 years.

DAY 4

STONEHENGE – SALISBURY

Breakfast at the hotel and we proceed to Stonehenge, the most sophisticated stone circle in the world and one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe.

 

Detour 9 miles south of the iconic prehistoric stone circle, we will find Salisbury, medieval cathedral city in the southern English county of Wiltshire.

We can admire the cathedral with the tallest spire in Britain, which can be seen from everywhere in the town.

DAY 5

DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Along the way to the airport, time permitting, we may stop to visit Reading’s Abbey Quarter. The Abbey was once one of Europe’s largest royal monasteries and dates back over 900 years. Henry I was buried here, and Jane Austen went to the Abbey School.

DAY 1

ARRIVAL IN LONDON

Arrive at London Heathrow, pick up by your assistance and coach transfer to your central London hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure to explore the city at your own pace. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2

LONDON

Breakfast at the hotel and morning at leisure.

Enjoy a 2-course lunch including tea/coffee at a restaurant or pub near the hotel. Departure in the afternoon for a panoramic sightseeing tour of the city. The tour has been carefully designed by your English-speaking guide, who will take you around the most iconic sites of the British capital - outlining the countless films and TV series that were set here. From Sherlock Holmes to James Bond, Bridget Jones, Love Actually or the most recent Kingsman – it is difficult to count all the productions that have been filmed in this exceptional city. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3

WINDSOR - OXFORD

Breakfast at your hotel and departure for Windsor. We visit Windsor Castle, which has been inhabited for more than 900 years. This official residence of the queen is one of the biggest occupied castles in the world. Get ready to spend a royal morning in a beautiful castle with magnificent décor! It was in the chapel of the castle that prince Harry recently married Meghan Markle on the 19th May 2018.

Enjoy a 2-course lunch including tea/coffee. In the afternoon, we travel to Oxford, where you will pass by its numerous colleges, including the Christ Church College, which you will visit. It is one of the most unique colleges in Oxford, being the biggest and oldest university in England. The college played a prime role in the history of the city.  It is now also well known as the inspiration for the film adaptation of a book about a certain bespectacled wizard.

Travel back to your hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4

HIGHCLERE CASTLE

Breakfast at your hotel.

Today we visit Highclere Castle, residence of Earl de Carnarvon, dated back to the XVII century. Its gardens have been created and decorated by the famous Capability Brown. It is internationally known for being the film set of the success series Downton Abbey. We then travel towards Winchester and enjoy a 2-course lunch including tea/coffee in a pub. After lunch, visit of the medieval cathedral of Winchester, one of the biggest in Europe. It appears in the film Elizabeth: The Golden Age but has equally been used as a double for the Vatican for The Da Vinvi Code. Travel back to your hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5

TRAVEL BACK HOME

Breakfast at your hotel and check out. Pick up by your coach and transfer to Heathrow Airport for your flight back home.

Berlin is one of the most exciting and diverse cities in Europe and during the festive season it is an especially wonderful place to visit. With over 60 markets dotted around the city, you will be spoilt for choice and there is something for everybody to explore!

PARIS & THE LOIRE VALLEY

DAY 1

ARRIVAL IN PARIS

Arrival in Paris, pick up by your coach and English speaking assistance at the airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day and dinner will be at leisure to explore the city. Overnight.

DAY 2

PARIS  SIGHTSEEING & SEINE CRUISE

Breakfast at your hotel. This morning we enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of this fascinating city. We will pass by famous sights such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre and many more. After the tour we enjoy a 3-course lunch in a typical restaurant.

In the afternoon, we take a leisurely cruise along the River Seine for a different point of view of the city! We pass by Notre Dame, Musee d’Orsay, Louvre and Pont Neuf amongst other sights. Overnight.

DAY 3

PARIS

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we enjoy a guided walking tour of the Marais quarter. This tour is based in the historic quarter of Marais and away from the typical tourist paths – a hidden Parisian gem! Explore outstanding buildings of historical and architectural importance, mix in with the locals and find out about the secrets and stories of the Marais quarter.

After the tour, we enjoy a 3-course lunch at a typical restaurant.

The afternoon will be at leisure to explore this fascinating city at your own pace. Overnight.

 

DAY 4

PARIS - ORLÉANS - BLOIS

Breakfast at your hotel, check-out and departure towards the Loire Valley. We arrive in Orléans and take a guided walking tour - in the footsteps of Joan of Arc. The tour takes you to the discovery of the life of the young French icon, nicknamed ‘The Maid of Orléans’. In Orléans, she is a superstar! You will find her on the medallions that are dotted along the city streets, on the stained glass windows at the cathedral, in paintings and sculptures. After the tour we enjoy a 3-course lunch.

In the afternoon, we travel to Château Chambord for a guided visit. The castle is an exceptional work of art and a UNESCO’s World Heritage site since 1981. As an emblem of the French Renaissance known throughout the world, Chambord is an architectural masterpiece bearing the double signature of François I, its grand patron, and of Leonardo da Vinci, its inspirational architect.

Travel to your hotel in Blois. Check-in, dinner and overnight.

DAY 5

AMBOISE & CHATEAU DE CHENONCEAU

Breakfast at the hotel and travel to Château Chenonceau for an independent visit. The history of the Château de Chenonceau is defined by an almost uninterrupted succession of women who built, embellished, protected, restored and saved it. Afterwards we continue to Amboise and enjoy a 3-course lunch.

In the afternoon we explore the city and the royal castle with our guide. A place of residence for French kings from the 15th to the 19th centuries, its destiny is inextricably linked to the history of France.

Before we head back to Blois, we take a tour through a wine cellar in Amboise, where we will also sample local products to complement the wines as part of a traditional French aperitif.

Travel back to your hotel, dinner and overnight.

DAY 6

SAUMUR & VAUVRAY

Breakfast at the hotel and departure towards Saumur. Your guide will show you around the city and you will visit the Château Saumur.

Afterwards, we take a cruise on the Loire and enjoy lunch on board.

In the late afternoon we travel back towards our hotel in Blois and make a stop on the way in the wine region of Vouvray. We then take in a guided tour of the wine cellar and sample some of their wines of course!

Travel back to your hotel, farewell dinner and overnight

DAY 7

TRAVEL BACK TO PARIS

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Travel back to Paris Airport for your flight back home.
